In preparation for a two week trip on the bike, I built this luggage rack that bolts over the pillion seat. It is a little less wide than the handlebars. The two "wings" can be folded down when not needed.
I welded a stack of washers together then ground them off at an angle so that it would mount flat to the pillion handle. A nylon washer keeps it from rubbing on the handle.
